Thom Yorke and Kings of Leon Considered for New Moon Soundtrack

Friday, July 17, 2009

As production on New Moon wraps up - and every female under the age of 23 counts down until the movie's release date on November 20 - attention is turning to the film's soundtrack.

While fans are buzzing over the possibility that Adam Lambert wants to record a song for it, director Chris Weitz didn't mention the American Idol's name in a recent interview.

Instead, he pointed to a pair of other artists as leading contenders to be featured on the album.

"We are just starting to put together what bands are on the soundtrack, so it's kind of like keeping ten plates spinning at once," Weitz said. "Everything is still kind of up in the air, but I am surprised at some of the bands that have said they're interested... The criterion will still always be what's right for the movie at that given moment, but Thom Yorke is interested; we might, if we're very lucky, get Kings of Leon to do something."

Yorke's band, Radiohead, closed out Twilight with its song "15 Step." Think he'd be a good choice for New Moon?

As you ponder that possibility, browse through an assortment of New Moon movie stills. Enjoy!
